“From Earth to Earth” takes a critical look at the rituals dictated by America’s death-denying culture and asks, “how can people trying to cope with the death of a loved one be better served?” Our documentary takes the viewer deep into the woods of Vermont and the meadows of central New York where deathwork pioneers are inspiring a new way of thinking about life, death, and our enduring connection to nature. Along the way, we explore the systematic problems of the death industry and provide insight into alternative paths for returning our bodies to the embrace of the Earth. You will meet traditional morticians, advocates of natural burial, people dealing with the death of loved ones, and Vermont's very own “tiny death witch.” Along the way, you will discover a whole new approach to burial, funerals, and life itself.

This project was a part of the final thesis my peers and I produced together, which has gone on to win multiple awards!

Emerging: A Storytellers Journey is a love letter to storytelling as an art through the spoken words of Regi Carpenter. When Regi performs, its mesmerizing and anyone who gets an opportunity to experience it is left mesmerized. However, after surviving a turbulent childhood and the sudden loss of her brother, Regi Carpenter found a greater purpose in telling stories that goes beyond just entertainment but as a way of helping others heal from their own loss.

After boarding buses in Texas, migrants step off into the streets of New York, forced to navigate an infrastructure unprepared for their arrival. With limited assistance from the city, volunteers are tasked with opening doors of opportunity.

This was a documentary thesis project I assisted with as an AC in the field and color-grading.
